Urban Meyer Told His Players At Florida That He Treats His Superstars Like Superstars And His Shit Like Shit

If you don't like and respect this then you have no competitive fire and you have zero grasp on how the world works. Every single coach in America does this, from peewee football to the pros, but Urban Meyer is the only one with big enough balls to say it out loud. The fact of the matter is that extremely talented people get second, third, and fourth chances until they either figure it out mess up bad enough that you can't give them a 5th. It's the very first rule I learned in coaching: if someone is late to the bus, you leave without them and send a message that tardiness will not be tolerated. But if it's your best player that you cannot win without, you realize your forgot your clipboard in your office and go look for it until they get there.

I'm so sick and tired of the response to Swamp Kings that I've seen online. First of all, yes, Urban Meyer is a huge dickhead that will do anything it takes to win. And that's why he wins. A 187-32 career record doesn't come from being a compassionate guy.  I'd rather be 7-0 against Michigan with a lying, cheating son of a bitch that plays the troublemakers than be 2-5 with a class act that builds character. Apparently though, like Urban, I'm the only one who will actually say it.

And second of all, the crybaby crowd that's calling this a very deliberate campaign to rehabilitate Urban Meyer's image need to get off their high horse and realize what this documentary is covering.

What did you think Swamp Kings was going to be? A hit piece? I saw there's a blog being published today on this very site about Swamp Kings being a big old suck fest for Urban Meyer. Folks, Urban Meyer is on the Mount Rushmore of College Football Coaches and went 65-15 in Florida. No shit they're going to show some success. I'm with you, I'd like to see more of the drama too, but to think this is a grand old conspiracy to paint him in a better light in hilarious. Yes he's going to be painted in a good light when they covering his coaching career. He's the best college football coach of all time!

I do understand why he didn't work in the Pros though. I literally called it from the very first rumor he was going to the NFL, check the receipts. He is a my way or highway type guy, and that works with college kids that have no other options. You can't treat grown ass men with millions of dollars the same way. But to anyone that thinks Urban's 2-11 career with the Jaguars means he couldn't walk into any university in America tomorrow and have them in the playoff by next year, you're crazy. Buddy knows how to coach and he knows how to win and he knows how to let you know he won.
